In the 1998/99 and 1999/2000 school years, the Yonkers Public Schools' Board of Education wanted professional photography for its many publications, including its Magnet School Catalogue, Annual Report, School calendar, and newsletters. I was given the assignment and spent over 100 hours in each of the two school years photographing at all of the 35 Yonkers public schools, from pre-kindergarten through High School. I also did formal portraits of Board of Education Trustees, two Superintendents and other school administrators and teachers, as well as photography of events such as graduations, plays, award ceremonies and technology evenings. The publications designed by the schools' graphics department, using the new photography, resulted in more than a dozen awards in competitions on both the state and national levels.
